Gunpicker Shiraz Cabernet
2014 | $25 Bottle | $300 case
This classic Australian blend of Shiraz (61%) and Cabernet (39%) is vibrant in colour and brimming with berry fruits of black cherry and fresh plum. The leafy, tobacco notes of the Cabernet complement this richly aromatic wine which shows hints of cedar and restrained oak use.
This wine is medium in body and rich in texture with ripe berry fruit and a supple, well rounded mouthfeel. The velvet like tannins are seamlessly integrated to produce a long finish of chocolate and cedar spice.
This wine has been produced and named in memory of my late brother Barry John Munari. Barry was a great presence at vintage over many years keeping us all entertained. From early on, Barry recognised his unique grape picking prowess and christened himself “The Gunpicker”. Vintage won’t be the same without him. This wine is a blend of 61% Shiraz from the Upper Goulburn region and 39% Cabernet Sauvignon from our Ladys Creek Vineyard.
